Today P and I finally made it to the Peony and Iris Farms down by Salem. After many weeks of spring rain, we took the first weekend where the weather prediction at least promised “mixed” since particularly the peonies are only open in the late spring/early summer. Luckily, when we actually arrived at the farms, it was during times of sunshine, and the light showers occured while we were in the car. Bright, humid sunshine. The peony farm required more walking as their manicured display garden was quite small, so we walked across the land to the many rows of peonies instead. The iris farm had a more thorough, large display garden that also had a cart of snacks and wine tasting booth and some shade and chairs to relax in.
